Domestic travel in Japan

Postby monkeyshine89 » May 21st, 2013 6:45 am

I live in Okinawa and I like to travel in Japan. I have been to Tokyo, Osaka/Kyoto, and Sapporo. Where would be a unique and fun place to holiday? I love festivals and culture; my husband loves nature and a good bar scene. Akita is on the table as well some other cities in the Tohoku region, but I'm totally good with cities like fukuoku or Hiroshima.

Please let me know if you had a good experience or interesting experience with any city. I'm not really worried about the language/culture shock factor.

Hello Monkeyshine,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.
Wow, you have been a lot of places in Japan! :)
In the summer Izu Peninsula is beautyfull with a lot of onsens and great beaches (Shimoda is my favorite) and also Okinawa islands are good choices, like Ishigakijima (but you live there, so probably you know Okinawa better then me.)
If you like wintersport, dont miss Hakuba and Hokkaido!

And if you have any more questions, feel free to ask us.

Enjoy learning Japanese with us!

Cheers,

Where in Tokyo have you been? What about Kanagawa prefecture: Hakone? Kamakura? Chigasaki? Chiba? Kawasaki? Yokohama? Yokosuka? Those are all great places!!!
