help for sending best wishes!

Postby tanitayou » December 23rd, 2009 11:29 am

Thank you in advance to everyone who can help me in translating.
I need to send a best wishes card (by e mail) to a japanese colleague. I know that they consider the "New year wishes" more important that the Christmas ones, but she usually works with western people.
My question is about the sentence I need to use for Happy new Year wishes before January 1st.
I'm pretty sure that "AKEMASHITE OMEDETOU GOZAIMASU" is used only for the day or after that.
So which is the right sentence?
Thank you and Merry Christmas!
