Osaka 9th September - I have question

Postby keiron » August 21st, 2008 5:02 pm

Hi everyone, I'm due to travel fly to Kansai International 9th September and stay in Japan for a month or so. Is it a good idea to rent a Ketai before I go or is there a place I can set up a rental contract @ Kansai airport. I know there is one at Narita but i'm not flying into there this time.

Thanks : )

http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/en/serv ... _list.html

Since you're going to be there 1 month, I'd recommend a pre-paid phone instead of a rental.

As long as you are just looking for an adapter (and not a step up) then you should be able to pick it up fairly easily in the high street or worse case at the aiport. It's the same as US.

Remember Japan is not 240V so unless your device (a lot are these days) covers 100 ~ 240V then you would need a step up transformer.

My parent's electric toothbrushes and mum's curling tongs always fall foul of that - no matter how many times they come!!!

Thanks, yes it looks like a sensible option for me. :D Very helpful post. Thankyou.
Do you have any recommendation?? My main use will be for SMS and maybe a few domestic calls. I wont be making international calls because I will use Skype on my laptop.
:D
