Tokyo tips

Postby skrba » July 11th, 2008 10:02 am

Hi all,

I am living in Kansai and need an advice from residents of Tokyo.

Next month my family is landing at Narita so we have to go to Tokyo station (or Shinagawa, I am not sure which is more convenient to come to) and take Shinkansen to my home, so if anybody can suggest what is the best way to do that route. (There will be 5 people all together so I would prefer cheaper variants because of the returning way too.)

Second and very important question is about storing big luggage somewhere near to Tokyo station or Shinagawa, because we would like to put the suitcases and have some time hanging around. I know for coin lockers but haven't seen bigger ones, so does anybody know any hint how to do this?

Thanks a lot on any help!

Narita to Tokyo Station.

The baggage room is available on the first basement level in Tokyo Station.
It is on opposite side of GRANSTA across the Central Passage on the following PDF map.

 HOURS : 9 am - 8 pm
FEE : 500 yen per piece
SIZE : A total linear dimension of less than 59 inches (150 cm) per piece
Weight : Less than 30 kg (66 pounds) per piece

Thanks a lot Hoshi, your hints are great! I couldn't find this luggage service before so this was really useful!

so that's where they moved it too!! It used to be near the SW exit close to the big post office but I notice that is closed. Sometimes I get asked and I had no idea - assumed they had closed it for "security" reasons

Thanks
