日本語を勉強しましょう!

Postby xoured5391 » October 24th, 2013 10:27 pm

Hello! My name is Justin. It is nice to meet everyone. Earlier this year I was living in Fukuoka in Japan. I was a student at Seinan Gakuin University. I miss it a lot. But now I have been studying Japanese by myself, and its a little difficult alone. That is why I am looking for a partner! I would like to speak Japanese as much as possible and become fluent no matter what ^^. Also, I am looking for a teacher as well. My college does not have anymore Japanese classes but recently I have been a teachers assistant for Japanese. Yet, I still want to practice even more. Who would like to help? ^^

Justin さん、
こんにちは :D

J-Pod listeners often look for study buddies on Skype and they exchange account info here on furum as well.
Hop you can also find someone to practice with!

In meanwhile, I'd like to give you some feedback on your composition in Japanese 8)
As you studied in Japan, youre Japanese seems to be very good indeed!!

はやい今年から、福岡で日本に住んでいました。(Earlier this year I was living in Fukuoka in Japan.)
=> 今年に入ってしばらく、(日本の)福岡に住んでいました。
When we speak in Japanese, we don't have to mention "in Japan" as it's clear.
The expression "earlier this year" is not very easy to translate; we'd probably use the very different
expression.

西南学院大学で大学生でした。(I was a student at Seinan Gakuin University.)
=> 西南学院の大学生でした。OR 西南学院に留学していました。
The latter might sound much more natural in Japanese.

今は自分で日本語は難しすぎなくので勉強できません。(now I have been studying Japanese by myself, and its a little difficult alone.)
=> 今は自分で日本語を勉強していますが、一人で勉強するのは少し難しいです。
You don't have to think too difficult; the part "I have been studying Japanese" doesn't take the word "difficult", so
it's same in Japanese. You HAVE BEEN studying Japanese, so it's not 勉強できません either.

助けてくれてください!(Who would like to help?)
=> 助けてください。
Again, you might be thinking a bit too much here. I'd recommend you to search lessons covering くれる because this and
あげる and もらう are very important in Japanese, and yet not too easy.

Good luck!

ジャスティンさん、
どういたしまして :D
「あなたの文は本当にやすいだよ」は、
「あなたの文は本当にわかりやすい」という意味ですか?それとも「かんたんです」という意味ですか?
「やすい」はcheapという意味なので、easyだったら「かんたんです」かな? :wink:

もちろん、私も、ほかのJ-Podメンバーも、J-Podリスナーも、ジャスティンさんの日本語の勉強のお手伝いをしますよ!

皆さん、こんにちは。

質問があります。

What is this te-form + mite? I read it often, and once learned what it meant, but I can't recall and can't find it in my textbooks anymore (It's already so much stuff I went through, it's always hard to find one particular grammar structure.)

Could someone please give me a short hint? I promise to write it down neatly this time! :D

クロクマさん、

In answer to your question:
What is this te-form + mite? I read it often, and once learned what it meant, but I can't recall and can't find it in my textbooks anymore (It's already so much stuff I went through, it's always hard to find one particular grammar structure.)

。。。てみてください Is like a suggestion to 'try' and do 'verb'

1.これを食べてみてください
Please Try and eat this.
2.この漢字を読んでみてください
Please Try and read this Kanji
3.自分でしてみてください
Please try and do it yourself

You can also use the expression yourself without ください。

1.じゃ、食べてみます。
I'll try and eat it..
2.この本を読んでみます。
I'll try and read this book.
3.Ok. 自分でしてみます。
Ok. I'll try and do it myself.

この説明が助けるといいですね。そのうえ、文法のポイントについて引きたかったら、”A Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammer"という辞書がすごく便利な本です。
I hope this helps. Also, if you want to look up grammar points, "A Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar" is a very convenient dictionary.

Ah, なるほど, 今思い出しています。トラさん、どうもありがとう!

Right, I always remembered it by "DO 'something', and SEE how you like it" = to try 'something'. :)

Thanks for the explanation and reminder!! :)
