I figured it would help me to hear more native speakers without subtitles to push my listening comprehension so I downloaded this gadget a few months ago. It allows you to watch streaming Japanese TV in real time. I caught Kōhaku Uta Gassen on New Year's Eve (I fell asleep for the actual new year in my home country) and I'm currently enjoying it a great deal:

I remember I used the very similar system before, but that one didn't have NHK.
