Hiragana memory helpers

Postby yayforjapanese » December 7th, 2010 4:33 am

Konnichiwa!^^

I created these for my own use in studying Hiragana, but then I thought perhaps others might enjoy seeing them too.

1-The first Hiragana set or 'block' is;
N WA RA YA MA HA NA TA SA KA A
I was just starting out, so I memorized the 1st chart from left to right using a phrase with socially romantic allusions;

"Nice Words Romance Your Meditating Heart; New Trendy Smiles Kindle Approaches."

2-The 2nd Hiragana set or 'block' was;
PA BA DA ZA GA

"Party Basement Driving Zone Garage."

3-The 3rd Hiragana set was;
PYA BYA JA GYA RYA MYA HYA NYA CHA SHA KYA
PYU BYU JU GYU RYU MYU HYU NYU CHU SHU KYU
PYO BYO JO GUO RYO MYO HYO NYO CHO SHO KYO

or;
P B J G R M H N CH SH K

and I came up with this sort of innocent teeny-bopper date scene jingle;
"Pretty Boy Junior Girl Ro-Mance Hot Night CHerry SHake Kiss."

So that's all they do in the 3rd jingle; a teenybopper boy and girl meet at a soda shop and have a 'hot date' by sharing a cherry shake and concluding with a kiss; a 'first kiss', if you like.

Hope somebody likes it. Works for me.^^

hmmm.... I admire your effort and the mnemonic sentences are very interesting, but I would strongly recommend you to learn the kana table in the correct order, column by column from right to left. You may not understand it yet, but when you'll start learning verb and adjective conjugations, it'll help you immensely.
design is like a puzzle... I'm just trying to solve it now
