I told him he was driving so I could study ;-P

Wooh! やった!

How did it go for you guys? There were a few bits I wasn't sure about but I think I did well over all.

It's finally over, what a relief! Well, since it's not going to be an epic fail there's a chance did okay... fingers crossed! Has anyone noticed how the JLPT listening has improved in recent years? I love the art style in the paper and the voice acting too.

Anyway, big thank you to Japanesepod101, it made revising so much easier ;-)

Well, that was horrifying.

It is certain that I didn't do well-- but conversely it is also certain that I didn't do poorly. Gotta wait until February to find out where I sit in this uncomfortable grey area.

Level 2 in San Francisco.

I was in over my head ;-)

I've already done fine twice on level 3, so taking it a third time didn't seem so worthwhile, but the distance up to 2 is large.

I've heard chatter about a new test in-between the current 2 and 3 -- is this going to happen?

Yes, next year. Apparently they decided to make up that difference. There will be 5 levels, and the new level will be 3.
As for mine... you know when everything seems to be going well only to find out you were doing it wrong? :hen:
I either did well or completely Bombed it!

Hopefully we all did okay :)

Do you think they'll change the format with the new exams? I'm not really a fan of this whole multiple choice nonsense, they should encourage actual writing ability a bit more!

Took test in Seattle, level 3. Wasn't too hard since I studied using past tests as a guide, so I am looking forward to level 2. I may not pass the first time, but it'll be a good experience nevertheless.

I was taking level 2 in SF too :) Room 471!

Every time I take this thing I get better on kanji/vocab/grammar and worse on the listening. The reading comprehension stays about the same ^^; But as they say "the 3rd time's the charm" so maybe I'll squeak out enough points to pass this time.

I swear on that first listening question with the 4 boys I couldn't even see a difference in them until it was too late >_<;

Just took the 4-kyu in Los Angeles. Not too bad at all thanks to all that I've learned between Japanese pod 101.com and my Japanese classes from Japan Socety (NYC) and my online Manga de Japanese classes. Listening comprehension followed by grammar were definitely the hard parts of the test for me.

Planning to move onto the new N4 (old 3-kyu) next year. So how big is the jump from 4-kyu to 3-kyu?
