JLPT 2 and 1 practice tests on JPod101

Postby Phro » July 28th, 2009 9:08 am

Okay, I hope isn't as stupid of a question as I think it is because I'm going to ask it anyway. (What a horrible way to begin a post...hah!)

Anyway, I'm wondering where the JLPT 2 and 1 practice tests are on JPod101. I found the 4 and 3 practice tests in the learning center, but no tests for 1 or 2. Am I looking in the wrong place? Are there simply no tests?

I'm only asking because I'm starting to wonder if my computer is rendering pages correctly, as the listening tests for 3 have the same question listed multiple times in a row. It was really confusing for a bit, until I realized what was going on. Maybe I'm missing a plug-in that randomizes questions?

Anyway, my main concern is finding 1級 and 2級 practice tests. Are they non-existent or is my browser messing up the page and I simply can't see them?

I looked and couldn't find them either. I'd love to get some practice tests for 一級 二級!!

Okay, well at least it's not just me!

I'm actually kind of surprised, I really expected them to have 一級 and 二級.

私も!

I was also wondering if the 2kyuu and 1kyuu practice tests were somehow hidden thus not showing in the Learning Center, but it seems that such feature is not avaiable. But since Jpod never stops to surprise me, I think they'll soon realise and work on this issue.

I was thinking the same last night. I just signed on and would really like to see more JLPT 1 (N1) specific lessons.

Jpod seems to be more geared towards beginners and the resources for the higher end of the spectrum sort of peter out a bit in comparison. The lack of N1 and N2 practice stuff is a good example. This is basically the reason I won't pay for a premium acct on the site - I just can't afford such a lot of money when the resources for my level are really pretty limited.

I'm fairly sure it's something they're working on, which is great for those who are beginning or intermediate now, but not so great for N1/N2 standard peoples.

I find the upper intermediate pods interesting and good for the occasional vocabulary but very easy for listening and grammar as a rule, yet there's nothing lesson-wise above those that I can see (unless I too am missing the boat here).

As of now, we only have JLPT Lesson series for levels N5, N4, and N3 (which is currently running), but we hope to eventually tackle N2 and N1 after these :D

As for the Practice Tests, we would love to have questions for N2 and N1 as well, but unfortunately with the site renewal coming up, we do not have any concrete plans to add them yet
