Vocabulary lists for anime

Many learners find their initial interest in Japanese through anime or manga. The best, the worst - talk about them all here! (Well, almost all!)

Vocabulary lists for anime

Postby catherinedevlin » October 29th, 2011 8:10 pm

Wouldn't it be great if, before you watched an anime episode, you could look over a list of words that would appear in the episode, so that you could listen for them as you watched?

I'm trying to start a community movement to produce and use vocabulary lists like that.

Project described
and two series that are underway:
Sasameki Koto

Please come take part - either studying for the lists or making new ones! Thanks!

Using anime is a great way to learn Japanese, but it's not so easy. So here's a quiz based on the many of the words encountered while watching many different anime.

Hope this helps.

catherinedevlin-san, neko25097-san,

Like neko25097-san wrote, learning from anime could be difficult, but it seems you did a great job!
I can't go through checking all the words you listed, but I think there are some words you need to fix.
Apart from the usage of kanji (some words are supposed to be written in hiragana),
for example, te-form of "to look" is not 見って, but it's 見て withouth little "tsu" in between.
When "mitai" is used with meaning of "appreared to be" or "seem (to be)", it's written in hiragana.
Also, I don't know if you picked up this from actually written phrases, but そうゆう is not correct (many young
people write with ゆ but they're simply incorrect); the correct one is そういう

Hope it helps.
