Hi, everyone! It's Risa! Welcome to Japanese Top Words. Today's theme is Top 10 Phrases Your Parents Always Say. そうしなさい。(Sō shinasai.)
あれ、こうしなさい。(Are, kōshinasai.)
Let's go!
1. 気を付けて。 (Ki o tsukete.) "Be careful."
もう暗いから、気を付けて。 (Mō kurai kara, ki o tsukete.) "Be careful, because it's so dark."
2. 静かに。 (Shizuka ni.) "Be quiet."
お父さん電話中だから、静かに。 (Otōsan denwachū dakara, shizuka ni.) "Be quiet, because, your dad is talking on the phone."
3. いい子にしなさいね。 (Iiko ni shinasai ne.) "Behave."
おじさんの家に行くけど、いい子にしなさいね。 (Ojisan no uchi ni ikukedo, īko ni shinasai ne.) "We are going to your uncle's house, so behave yourself."
4. 宿題しなさい! (Shukudai shinasai!) "Do your homework!"
テレビを見る前に宿題しなさい! (Terebi o miru mae ni shukudai shinasai!) "Do your homework before you watch TV!"
5. 寝なさい。 (Nenasai.) "Go to bed."
もう11時ですよ。寝なさい。 (Mō jūichiji desu yo. nenasai.) "It's already 11. Go to bed."

6. 3つまで数えるからね。 (Mittsu made kazoeru kara ne.) "I'm going to count to three."
三つ数え終わるまでに本当のことを言いなさい。 (Mittsu kazoe owaru made ni hontōno koto o iinasai.) "Tell me the truth before I finish counting to three."
一、二、三。 (ichi, ni, san.) Come on!
7. やめなさい。 (Yamenasai.) "Stop."
メガネ取った。(Megane totta.)
やめなさい。 (Yamenasai.) "Stop."
危ないから、やめなさい。 (Abunai kara, yamenasai.) "Stop. It's dangerous."
8. 冗談じゃないよ。 (Jōdan ja nai yo.) "I'm not kidding."
信じてないみたいだけど、冗談じゃないよ。 (Shinjite nai mitai dakedo, jōdan ja nai yo.) "You don't believe it, but I'm not kidding."
9. 今すぐ、テレビを消しなさい。 (Ima sugu, terebi o keshinasai.) "Turn the TV off now."
もう12時ですよ。今すぐ、テレビを消しなさい。 (Mō jūniji desu yo. ima sugu, terebi o keshinasai.) "It's already midnight. Turn the TV off now."
10. いつ歯を磨いたの? (Ha o migaita no?) "Did you brush your teeth?"
いつ歯を磨いたの? (Itsu ha o migaita no?) "When did you brush your teeth?"
