Hi, everyone! This is Risa. Welcome to Japanese Top Words. Today’s theme is 10 things to do in the summer in Japan. Let’s start!
1. 海外旅行をする (kaigairyokō o suru) “to travel abroad”
来月は海外旅行をします。 (Raigetsu wa kaigairyokō o shimasu.) “I'm going to travel abroad next month.”
行きたいとこいっぱいあるなぁ。 (Ikitai toko ippai aru nā.) “There are a lot of places I want to visit. イタリア、スペイン、フィンランド、アメリカ、メキシコ・・・ (Itaria, Supein, Finrando, Amerika, Mekishiko...) “Italia, Spain, Finland, America, Mexico…” こっちか。 (Kocchi ka.) “ oh, here.”
2. ビーチでくつろぐ (bīchi de kutsurogu) “to relax at the beach”
ビーチでくつろぎたい。 (Bīchi de kutsurogitai.) “I want to relax at the beach.”
人生っていいね。 (Jinsei tte iine.) “Life is wonderful.”
3. JapanesePod101.comで日本語を覚える (JapanesePod101.com de nihongo o oboeru) “to learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com.”
私はJapanesePod101.comで日本語を覚えています。 (Watashi wa JapanesePod101.com de nihongo o oboete imasu.) “I'm learning Japanese with JapanesePod101.com.”

4. 日本食を作ることを覚える (nihonshoku o tsukuru koto o oboeru) “to learn to cook Japanese food”
彼は日本食を作ることを覚えました。 (Kare wa nihonshoku o tsukuru koto o oboemashita.) “He had learned to cook Japanese food.”
はい、いらっしゃいませ。いらっしゃいませ。 (Hai, irasshaimase. Irasshaimase.) “Hello. Welcome to our restaurant.” はい、一丁。 (Hai, icchō.) “One done.”
5. バーベキューをする (bābekyū o suru) “to have a barbeque”
B-B-Q.
我が家でバーベキューをします。 (wagaya de bābekyū o shimasu.) “We have a barbeque at my house.”
Barbecue, B-B-Q. B-B-Q, a barbecue, a B-B-Q, a barbecue, barbeque!
6. 一晩中パーティーをする (hitoban jū pātī o suru) “to party all night”
I wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy. Grab my glasses, I'm out the door; I'm gonna hit this city.
朝、目が覚めてP. Diddy の気分。(Asa, me ga samete P. Diddy no kibun.) “When I wake up, I feel like P. Diddy.”
一晩中パーティーをしましょう。 (Hitoban jū pātī o shimashō.) “Let's party all night.”
Yeah! Let’s party all night! Party all night, a party all night.
7. 日焼けする (hiyake suru) “to get a tan”
私は日焼けしたくありません。 (Watashi wa hiyake shitaku arimasen.) “I don't want to get a tan.”
海外では結構、肌の (Kaigai de wa kekkō, hada no) “I hear that people in foreign countries think” 焼けてる方がかっこいいと思われるって聞くんですけど、 (yaketeru hō ga kakkoii to omowarerutte kikun desu kedo, ) “sun-bronzed skin is cool,” 日本では肌の白い方が、 (Nihon de wa hada no shiroi hō ga,) “but in Japan,” 何か、か弱くてかわいいみたいな、イメージがありますね。 (nanka, kayowakute kawaii mitai na, imēji ga arimasu ne.) “people think fair-skinned women look fragile and lovely.”
8. ハイキングへ行く (haikingu e iku) “to go hiking”
歩こう、歩こう、私は元気♪(Arukō, arukō, watashi wa genki♪) “Let's walk, let's walk, I'm fine♪ “ 歩こう、歩こう、私は元気♪ (Arukō, arukō, watashi wa genki♪) “Let's walk, let's walk, I'm fine♪”
いつハイキングへ行きましょうか？ (Itsu haikingu e ikimashō ka?) “When shall we go hiking?”
東京でハイキングと言えば、高尾山ですかね。 (Tōkyō de haikingu to ie ba, takao-san desu ka ne. ) “When it comes to hiking in Tokyo, it must be Mt.Takao.” 私がハイキングにおすすめなのは、群馬の尾瀬。 (Watashi ga haikingu ni osusume nano wa, gunma no oze. ) “My recommendation for hiking is Oze in Gunma Prefecture.” 尾瀬がきれいでしたよ。ハイキング行くのおすすめです。 (Oze ga kirei deshita yo. Haikingu iku no osusume desu.) “It is beautiful. A must-visit place to hike.”
9. アルバイトする (arubaito suru) “to work a part-time job”
夏休みにアルバイトするつもりです。 (Natsuyasumi ni arubaito suru tsumori desu.) “I'm going to work a part-time job during my summer vacation.”
10. 友達と一緒に楽しむ (tomodachi to issho ni tanoshimu) “to have fun with friends”
友達と一緒に楽しみたいです。 (Tomodachi to issho ni tanoshimitai desu.”I want to have fun with friends.”
鬼ごっことか、運動して遊びたいですね。 (Onigokko toka, undōshite asobitai desu ne. ) “I want to get some exercise like playing tag.” 何か、大人になるとあんまする機会がないから、 (Nanka, otona ni naru to anma suru kikai ga nai kara,) “Adults like us don't have such opportunity like,” 鬼ごっことか、かくれんぼとか、 (onigokko toka, kakurenbo toka.) “to play tag, hide-and-seek, or so.” 結構やったら楽しいと思います。 (kekkō yattara tanoshii to omoimasu.) “I think it would be pretty fun.”
皆さん、今年の夏は何をしたいですか？ (Mina-san, kotoshi no natsu wa nani o shitai desu ka?) “Hi everyone, what do you want to do this summer?” 私はそうだなぁ…あれしたいな。 (Watashi wa sōda nā… Are shitai na.) “I want, well, I want to do that one.” シュノーケリングしたいです。(Shunōkeringu shitai desu.) “Snorkeling.” 皆さんまた。(Mina-san mata.) “See you, everyone.” Bye-bye!
