This is true. Depends if the prof weighted the sections appropriately when calculating the score.

I took it in 2005 at Barcelona, Spain, 4th grade. I failed (!). I was going to take it in 2006 (in the new location at Madrid, which is closer to where I live) but then I realized that I do not want to pass an exam; what I really want is to speak Japanese to the Japanese tourists in town, and show them some "home flavour"! So I changed my approach. This does not mean I will not go back to my old plan...

Anyway, best of lucks to those trying next December.

Anyone taking the JLPT 3 this December in New York? I'm planning to...if all goes accordingly. I have quite a bit of studying to do!

I plan to take JLPT 2 (may possibly change mine to 1kkyuu) in DC, a nice 3 hour drive from here.

I am taking the second try this year at 2 Kyu in Tokyo. The first tiime I was too weak on grammar but who wonders after 1.5 years of studying.
