HI! from a newbie :D

みなさん こんにちは!
I am Francis, 19 yrs old, and i'm new into the Japanese language and in this website.
I'm studying with Japanesepod and with another book written in my motherlanguage (italian), just to avoid the confusion that the english language could make.
About JP, i didn't actually understand how it works: what lessons I have to follow first? Audio lessons or Video lessons?
I also recived a Getting Started pack by mail, and I downloaded the .zip file they sent, but again I can't figure out how the method works :x
Yes, maybe I'm a bit dumb  :D

So it should be nice if a more expert user could explain me how to do that! Thanks in advance and sorry for my english :)

Jpod101 is mostly audio lessons supported by PDF files. The PDF files have transcripts of the lessons and additional information. Most of the video files support the audio lessons but some are stand-alone video series. For example, Kantan Kana shows you how to write hiragana and katakana.

You have probably seen that there are several series at each level. For example, there are at least five Beginner series. They have different content but they all start from around the same level. Therefore you do not do S1 followed by S2 followed by S3! Instead you might do one or two Newbie series, and then do one or two Beginner series, and so on. When people have asked about which ones to choose, the most popular answer has been to do Newbie S2, then Newbie S3, and then Beginner S4.
