The more difficult aspects of the lesson (you ni naru and you ni suru) weren't even mentioned once. Perhaps less time could be spent in repearting the same sentance several times and more time could be spend in explaining the complex grammer. My husband, who doesn't speak a word of Japanese, always got it right long before me. He'd simply look at the pictures, which I'd managed to miss seeing!!! My katakana reading skills improved out of sight by being "on location", so to speak. It was amazing being able to read signs, menus, etc. 1.
