Just a handful of months ago I inquired about this and they weren't lying about it being on their radar. I listen to the podcasts that I pulled from my Jpod101 cd while I commute and this will be great for getting some study time in from my phone when I have a break or don't want to lug my laptop to a restaurant or coffee shop. This lead to many people giving up. There are many reasons to that, but the most important ones are: 1. It is natural thing that once you reach the bottle neck, your learning curve just get harder. 2. The fact is, there aren''t really a lot of good materials on the market for people at this level, most people always find those materials too hard or too easy. What Jpod101 can do is to fill the gap, the intermediate --> advanced level gap. We really don't need 10 lessons on how to use Onegaishimasu. 2-3 is really more than enough, most normal people will be able to learn it after just 1 lesson. But most people do need a lot of lessons to master the more advanced grammars. For basic grammar/words, if you don't understand after listening to a lesson, just go back and listen to it again, most of the time you will get it, however, this doesn't really apply well for higher level grammar/words/usage, you can listen to a higher level lesson many times, but you may only know everything about that lesson, due to how language varies, you may not know how to use that same grammar/word if things change. That is what makes intermediate --> advanced level so difficult to master. Jpod101 making more low level lessons just doesn't do most people any good. It is nothing but a waste of resources. Most new comers just won't go to those lessons straight, and those who have been using Jpod101 won't find it useful anyway. If you want to make JLPT4 lessons, please make JLPT 2 and 1 lessons too. JLPT 2 and 1 are tough, those are the ones people are going to take quite sometime to study and do well. JLPT4?....well...the others have answer it. I was sort of excited to hear about JPLT review lessons - until I heard it was only JPLT4. There's nothing particularly complex to learn at that level that you can’t get from just doing the normal lessons in my opinion. If you need something else, the practice tests on the site (which are really great by the way, I’m still hoping to see level 2 and 1 up there) seem like a pretty good bet. Ah well, never mind I guess. I have to agree with the above comments. I was sort of excited to hear about JPLT review lessons - until I heard it was only JPLT4. I passed level 2 many years ago, but this site has helped my Japanese a lot. However, pls develop this site to also help advanced users. JLPT4 review lessons may be good, but only to those who are at that level, what about people here who are taking JLPT1 and 2? Wordpower, also another thing for the beginners only, it is not likely going to benefit the higher levels much. Why are you all making so much materials for the beginners? Don't you guys have enough of it? Don't you want your listener to progress? or you just want your listeners to stay at the same level forever? To beginners: Study Beginner Season 1-170, you will be automatically at JLPT3 level and you will know 2000 vocabs. Can't remember? Just go and listen to those lessons again. It is way more effective than studying 2000 vocabs from your palm or iphone. Sorry for the rant. I really hope Jpod does something for your intermediate and advanced listeners.
