Ok, so since when did 類 have an extra stroke?
Saturday at 1:46 am
It’s older version of 類 still used in china I guess. Why is it used here? Well that is strange indeed…

Based on these components. according to the Online “Kanji Etymology Dictionary”
頁 head → people +
米 rice → plants +
犬 dog/beast → animals =
sort a variety of things according to type, creating smaller piles → variety
though I have seen, using the “simplified” version the following mnemonic
米 rice +
大 large +
頁 head (頁)=
large grain of rice in the shape of a head referring to things that are associated or of the same type, kind, …
Goes without saying that etymology and mnemonic not often go well together…
The question is how old is that editor used here…

We aplogize for the cofusion caused by using the old style of kanji by mistake. We’ll fix it as soon as possible.
