Re: reading the lesson notes while listening, though, I actually don't tend to do that, and here's why: Listening comprehension is my weakest point, and if I read while listening, then I'm not working on my listening comp--I'm working on my reading comprehension. I find it's much more helpful if I listen to it first, doing my best with only listening, and then after that, listen to it again while reading the lesson notes. This way I get the benefit of practicing my listen comprehension, but then afterwards, I can see exactly what words were used in the dialogue and thus pick up some new vocab and expressions that way. For me, that's the most effective way to make use of the lessons. Anyway, thank you again for all the effort that's put into this site! It's one of the best Japanese learning tools I've encountered, and I can see from the comments that it's making a big difference for a lot of people.
