Yes You can basically use the construction for 教える, 思う(to think), 降りる(to get off),置く（to put） and so on!
But, it’s a bit difficult to say these, isn’t it? Because the お sounds should be pronounced twice in a row

That clears it up, thank you. Although in the video game development industry, it’s rare to have that level of formality - at least in the United States. I will be surprised if I ever need to use it in my own working life. However, maybe when I become fabulously wealthy and have people waiting on me at a variety of expensive international destinations, I will hear this form regularly.

待ってください。Matte kudasai.—–Formal.
お待ちください。O-machi kudasai—Honorific. Even more polite than “Matte kudasai.” It’s often used to in the announcement or business situations.

If you are talking to your clients or customers, I recommend that you use “Omachikudasai” instead of “Matte kudasai.”

Thanks for your nice comments! I can’t say that anyone in my family is Japanese, however… I think it was just a looot of listening (TV, music, radio, anything) and imitating!

1. You really do have a fantastic radio voice. Piita-san sure can pick ‘em.

2. How-oh-how did you manage to learn to speak with such a natural accent at age 16?! I thought 11-13 (onset of adolescence) was pretty much the deadline for accent-less learning. Please tell us half your family is Japanese and you were hearing it around the house a lot when you were little…

Anyway, after 2-3 months when I just had too much work to study Japanese seriously, I’m back to obsessive JPod101 study. Great to know there’s fresh blood around’ere…
