What exactly can you buy over-the-counter at 薬局 ? For example, can you buy contact lenses without a prescription ? What about common pain-killers ?

国にくらべて処方箋なしでどんな薬を買えるか大事な話題だと思います。旅行の時に病気になるのは大変なことで、あまり知らない国で普通な薬を買えないことを気づくとひどいですよね!

お大事に!Please take care.

日本の薬はすこし弱いですよね。Nihon no kusuri wa sukoshi yowai desu yo ne.
I think Japanese medicine are comparatively weak.

I don’t think you can buy contact lenses without a prescription in Japan. The prescription for regular medicine is usually good only for 4 days.

I’ve bought medicine for motion sickness OTC. I did ask the pharmacist for help in finding the right kind of medicine, but the actual medicine was just out on the shelves.

Hey guys–

Just an FYI–I am using the search drop down menu for Seasons 1-3 and this Season 4 lesson is in there too. Is it in the wrong folder? Season 4 students won’t be able to easily find it here…
