Not be sorry, ggenglish! This 漢字汉字-guy is very happy without kana  Don't know what it is, but the kana slips away from the EASE part of my memory just when I look away for a minute。 The worst part of the Japanese written language, for me, is a page of nothing but hiragana!!! Yikes! Hiragana is a script very alien from both Kanji and Katakana, that's is: In Look and Feel. It's almost impossible for me to keep the flow of writing when adding hiragana, since I have change "style" of movements. Just an observation before breakfast. >>>sorry for the lack of kana everyone, i don’t have proper input on this comp yet.

I am really pleased that I made the "mistake" to just take a look here, before returning to ChinesePod.com. I hadn't been here for over a year or perhaps two. And just wanted to look and see what difference there might be between the two "systems" and I ended up with a subscription to this place too! Fun. My main focus will be on Mandarin studies, but I intend to spend a little time here as often as I can. I also had in mind making some Kanji lessons based on lessons released here, but we'll see about that. First I would like to get some feedback to see if there is a "market" for this kind of stuff (since I don't want to spend time doing stuff nobody wants). I wrote the first and only lesson in a single session so it's kinda long winded as an overall introduction, but I found that necessary. It's basically a modified version of the (holy) Heisig system of learning and remembering Kanji. Since I learned all the 2042 Kanji in his book, I have come to the conclusion that it is NOT necessary to strictly follow his approach: learn all these Kanji and THEN start to study Japanese for real (speaking, reading and writing). Once you finally have located the right building, you might still be looking for the right place for quite some time ( I remember going round and round a street block looking for the post office, which actually was on the 5th floor of the first building J had tried...) Since it's spoken, I dropped ga on purpose. The sentence pattern "Chikaku ni --- ga arimasu ka." will be introduced in lesson 32. :dogeza: liam-san
