こにちはみなさん

I try the luck and write maybe average story , but I write.
Terms like gamble and luck are for me something strange, but to be honest
Japanesepod101.com give me I think good start in Japanese. And I say why not, even make a smile someone who read me.

Like say in one big box from 999999 nice surprise and one wrong, my luck was to pick up this wrong. But lets joy together anyway and continue 日本語。

So my subject line says “My Japanese Story” instead of “Mailbag story”.
Should I send it again with the Mailbag story in the subject line? ?

The phrases I can think of are..
お久しぶりですね。O-hisashiburi desu ne.
(It’s been a long time.)
またお会いできてうれしいです。Mata o-ai dekite ureshii desu.
(It’s nice to see you again.)
お元気でしたか。O-genki deshita ka?
(How have you been.)
As for politeness level, it really depends on the relationship between you and your host mother and also your host mother’s personality. However I would say it’s safe to use the polite expression at the beginning. Since your host mother is older than you.

What would you like to say to your host mother? Do you want to start with “Long time no see”? If so,
お久しぶりですね。　O-hisashiburi desu ne.
It’s been a long time.
また、お会いできてとてもうれしいです。Mata oaidekite, totemo ureshii desu.
Good to see you again.
Actually, these are polite expressions. I think it’s safe to use the polite form to your host mother at the beginning, since she’s older than you. If she said that you don’t have to be polite, then you can lower the politeness level.

i’d like to ask ur a few questions
well, i used to join a homestay program in japan two years ago.
At that time, i could nt speak japanese at all…
but after i finished the homestay,i started to learn japanese in order that i could communicate with my host mom…
well, now my japanese is getting better and i want to meet my host mom again… the problem is when i meet them, what is the proper way to say….is it supposed to be polite or not…?? i am not good with words..can you guve me some suggestions?
