Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com. So, you want to ask your friend if you can meet back up in two hours. Easy in English, right? What about in Japanese? Maybe you want to talk about a meeting that happens every Monday. Do you have the Japanese skills to do it? Talking about the time and actions are just a natural part of conversation. Will your Japanese help you talk about time, or will you be wasting it? Use this newbie Japanese lesson to learn about time. It will help you understand intervals of time, like ni-jikan (two hours) and how to tell people about actions you plan to take, such as Kutsu o kaimasu (I’m going to buy shoes). You need this lesson to take your Japanese to the next level!

Mina-san, if you had two hours free time in Japan, where would you go and what would you do?

I don’t like to complain, but I’ve been annoyed at something for some time. I guess if I don’t complain, you won’t know that it’s broken (and therefore you cannot fix it). Lately, even though I have a premium feed set up, I’ve still had to come to pick up the pdf files from the lessons. My ISP has a download limit except during certain hours of the early morning. So, I’ve got my podcast collector set up to collect the feed during that time, so the MBs don’t count against me. PDF files are small, so it’s no big deal, and I can collect them by visiting the site. But I shouldn’t have to come and collect them, if things were working like they’re supposed to. I think it works because, when I come here I get the pdfs from a URL that looks like : http://www.japanesepod101.com/pdfs/707_NB_S4L22_120608_jpod101.pdf, but the podcast collector goes for it at an address like, http://www.japanesepod101.com/premium_feed/pdfs/707_NB_S4L22_120608_jpod101.pdf. Different, see? So, I don’t know why it makes a difference, or what not. I’m just pointing out that there is *somethng* going on with downloading the pdfs with the most recently released lessons. Sometimes, my collector says the problem is “not found”, other times the problem is “server is busy”. Please take a look at the situation! It’s annoying and it’s not just recently. I’ve been “working around” the problem for some time now. I’m studying both Japanese and Spanish, so it happens with spod101 too. The same sort of deal, but it seems worse at jpod101, so I’m mentioning it here.

I’d go shopping !!!!!

I just can’t go without breakfast, as most days it’s the one meal I know I will have for sure, and at what time. Weekdays I eat otmeal, blueberries and fresh cheese, orange juice and tea, and on sundays I have an american-style brunch with eggs, bacon and pancakes…

明日は日曜日ですし….あああ、おいしい!

Mina-san you would probably feel better in the morning if you ate at least a small breakfast. You can eat yogurt on the way out the door. mai-nichi asagohano tabemasu

I am sorry but the English translation of this dialog seems almost totally off to me. Mizuki says that they will have two and a half hours of free time. And in the afternoon they will visit the apple orchard. Lori answers that it is 12:30 now, so that they have two hours. Then she asks Shizuka what they should eat.

The “Formal English” translation gets the time wrong, does not mention the apple orchard, and does not translate half of what they said.

Did I misunderstand something here?

Jessi says:

Janetさん,
There was an error in the PDF that caused a lot of the translation to be cut off. Thanks for pointing this out! Please download the PDF again to get the revised version. :dogeza:
