In Japan, most people pay in cash when purchasing. Which do you prefer, cash or credit cards?

I have the feeling checks aren’t used that often in Japan (or in North America for that matter), while I use them rather frequently here. Whenever I spend more than 150-200 euros on something I’d rather use a check than my credit card….

How about a newbie series in which each podcast you deal with just one particle and all the ways that particle can be used.

wa, ga, ni, to, de etc I would find that really helpful.

Losing the functionality of the PDFs after paying for the service is really a pain.

I’ve written checks alot when I lived in the states. but in Japan carrying cash is more common.

stephen san> Thank you for your idea!! :dogeza:

David san>PASMO

otoyamaken san> Have you checked the forum where the solution to PDF may be found? :dogeza:

Hiroko san - yes I have. I find Acrobat to be very painful to use, and the Safari plug-in screws up websites that my wife needs to use for work. Even though I uninstalled the plugin, my Safari seems wonky now after the (forced) install. The PDFs were so easy to use in the past, that’s why I paid for them. Now they are ugly and a pain in the neck to use. I’ve had to take the extra time to update Acrobat, and hack their install, to get something less usable. chotto mukatsuku.

banku caado wa totemo benri desu ne.
Bank cards are very useful, aren’t they?

kani de caado, to yasui de genkin desu.
It’s convenient as a card, and cheap as cash.

In America, we have bank cards that act like Visa or Mastercard, but they are connected to our bank accounts. I don’t have to pay the price of credit, but I can buy things where cash isn’t practical.

Hiroko says:

Spidey san> I understand  but wouldn’t we rather save up $8/month and have the most fun and useful learning tools than to have free but the contents aren’t so good and valuable? It makes me make more effort to learn and pay attention to the lessons while when it’s all free, I don’t feel the urge to learn as much

Hiroko
