I mean tanan & tariki start the same and then you have tanan & hongan that sound similar.... sorry to sound like a phizzer but this lesson went in one ear and out the other.... I keep getting them mixed up in my mind... which goes with which.. just seems that you might pick 2 phrases that don't sound anything like each other? Unless there is another reason why these 2 phrases are introduced together? The kanji? no... the meaning? no...
