日本では、佐藤さんのような家庭を カカア天下 と呼びます。皆さんの国の言葉では似たような表現がありますか?(英語では His wife wears the pants などですよね)

Another excellent lesson. The dialog was quite hard, but the explanation exceptionally clear, so by the time the dialog repeated at the end of the audio file I could follow all of it: awesome!

Can’t help but feel that was an awfully “serious” series, though…pretty please, can we have some wacky characters in the next one?!

Just for old times sake, I’d love to hear what happened to Mel and 学長 after they got out of that Okinawan jail. It’s been two and a half years now, you’d think they’d be let out by now!

I found it the same as Andaman: there were a few lines that I didn’t get at all at the start, but I got every word at the end :mrgreen:

I think I’ve urged a Mel and 学長 comeback on the form a couple of times as well :lol:

AndamanIslander-san and ジャービジさん, that is great to hear! Naomi-sensei and Mayumi-sensei have really gotten this level under control! There are some really great things coming up! :grin: Mel and 学長…懐かしいな~。Not sure if Naomi-sensei and Mayumi-sensei even know of Mel and 学長. We’ll have to introduce them, and maybe it’s time for a reunion episode. :wink: Thanks for the feedback!

1800 Yen per hour? That is incredibly low…

giovanni san> Yeah, I agree! I wouldn’t for sure take this job if I were him. :roll:

Mina-san, in Japanese, the expression “His wife wears the pants” is Kakaa Tenka. Do you have a similar expression in your language/country?

AndamanIslander says:

ベネズエラでは、”あの家は, パンティーの政があります”って言う事です。

(パンティー = pantaletas
政 = なになにcracia
カカア天下 = pantaletocracia)

AndamanIslander says:

or, I’m told,

パンティー政治

makes more sense…

Really? I thought it was ok for a part-time job for a college student.

Alain says:

In my region (France near Geneva), 2000 to 3000 yens / Hour for a student, 4000 yens (and more) for an licensed teacher.
