みなさんこんにちは、美樹のブログです。
夏になると全国で夏祭りが行われます。その中でも青森を中心に東北地方ではねぶた祭りという大きな祭りが行われます。東北地方の夏は短いです。その限られた時間の中で思い切り情熱を発散するこの祭りはものすごい熱気があります。もともとは七夕の行事として行われていたものですが、七夕の静かなイメージとはまったく違った祭りです。
鮮やかな色に塗られた武士や鬼の形をした人形を街中引き回し、数千人のハネトと呼ばれる人達がその周りで踊ります。ねぶたの中には数百個の電球が入っているので、夜は特にきれいに見えます。ねぶたは大きなもので高さ5メートル、幅9メートル、重さは4トンもあります。こんな大きなねぶたが数十台とハネト数千人が街の中を回るんですからすごい迫力でしょうね。
最終日にはねぶたは海の上にも行きます。夜の海に電気のついたねぶたが写ってとてもきれいです。
ねぶた祭りのおもしろいところは、ハネトの衣装を着ていれば誰でも踊りに参加できるということです。衣装は四千円前後でレンタルもできるので、気軽に参加できますね。
私はねぶた祭りに行った事がないので、いつか行ってみたいです。その時はぜひ、ハネトとして参加してみたいと思います。
ねぶた祭りは海外にも遠征に行っているので、みなさんの国でも見れるチャンスがあるかもしれません。

The description reminds me a little of “carnaval de dunkerke” in the north of France. But this one actually sounds a lot more fun!
