Though sometimes I can’t shake the feeling that 29 million of those downloads must be me!

Hee hee…I wonder how many hard-core long-term users you have. We should unionize!

It’s really great news!!

I sometimes can’t listen to the lessons at the day they are released, so it’s nice to know comments can be made even after some time.

Congratulations for the numerous downloads, hope it multiplies!!! :hachimaki:

おめでとうございます! これからもよろしくお願いします。

To everyone at JapanesePod101.com: you are consistently doing a great job. Every day I listen in the car to and from work. I bought a premium subscription to show my support soon after I started listening back in April. You have such a great group of people working together. I hope you’ll be able to continue for a long time to come!

It’s funny to hear you put it that way…it made me realize I kind of feel the same way, y’know? The Basic Subscription has 98% of the features I normally use (though I do like to play with the Grammar Bank now and then) but I just feel like I spend so dang much time on this site it would feel weirdly dishonest not to pony up for the premium subscription, like I’d be ripping off a friend!

I seem to spend a lot of my time thinking about JPod101, telling people about it, practicing, and it brings up really funny issues.

Like, at this point, it’s so hard for me to fight the feeling that I know the hosts personally! I’m not stupid, I understand this feeling is an illusion, I do realize podcasting is a one-way medium…but still! I guess it happens to people who watch soap operas too…there’s this deceptive familiarity that comes from just hearing the same set of voices day after day after day.

Not to freak you out or anything - (I do live in Europe, so you probably don’t need an injunction just yet) - but it’s just interesting. I don’t suppose when Peter was sitting down to write his business plan 3 years ago he necessarily thought through the Obsessive Fan problem…but we’re definitely out here.

LEAD US PIITA-SAN!

AndamanIslander-san,
You said, “I do realize podcasting is a one-way medium…” and that’s true in a sense. The audio file is one way but the community that’s built out of them is defiantly not. That’s what I love about JPOD and why I wanted to be a part of it in some small way :)

I was on the free trial and i have to say, I learned so much I decided to subcribe and hey, wow a special offer arrived just in time! lucky!

Stu says:

Congratulations!
It’s a very impressive milestone. If I didn’t still have 9 months on my premium subscription I would definitely renew at this time.
I also benefit primarily from the “basic subscription” material, although it’s useful to be able to keep just the reviews and dialogs on my i-pod, and the “line-by-line audio” is also very helpful.
I haven’t been able to figure out how to do the “audio-tape” thing……..I’m just too technologically challenged for that. Maybe someone can give me some advice.!

Peter says:

Stu-san, we couldn’t have done it with out you! :dogeza: What’s the audio tape feature?

やまぴさん、よろしくおねがいぎます!Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!

Lisa-san, love this song…http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh_zD1WwTvU

Mark-san, thank you!

トムさん、ありがとうございます! :dogeza:

Stu says:

Peter,

Sorry……I meant the “Voice Recorder”, where you try to test your own pronunciation. I’ve tried pressing all the buttons, but nothing seems to happen. I’m sure that I’m just missing some obvious step……….no big deal, but it would be nice to try it out some time.
Otherwise, no complaints.

Thanks for such a quick response!
