単刀直入に言ってJPOD101が最高だ!

弟は本当にいい人です。優しくていつもいい機嫌なのです。でも、今年22歳になるのに、まだ卒業ができません。。。単刀直入に言うと、弟は大器晩成だと思いますわ。

I have been studying English and Japanese for the past 15 years - I used to getting long breaks inbetween -, and I still cannot master neither English nor Japanese. Perhaps, I’m only a late bloomer? … and will improve them someday?
I have gotten new hopes with you, Natsuko-san, Peter-san and other hosts, I finally got the feeling to be learning (with you) useful words, without pain and quickly (contrary to the language lessons at university). Moreover, JapanesePod.101を聞くことは, 英語と日本語を勉強になっているので、一挙両得た。I am even learning nice English words from the hearers, who leave a comment. Well, sorry for the language errors here, I am an expert on making mistakes. But, I just wanted to say you all THANK YOU! I cannot stop clicking JapanesePod101 anymore.

Allen-san, bacchiri! (perfect)
Ericさん、毎度ありがとう!こういう時に「が」よりも「は」の方がいいです。単刀直入に言ってJPOD101は最高だ。
プチクレアさん
「いい機嫌=元気」 ということですかね?
でも、いい例文っすね!やるぅ!
Yogiさん、よろしくお願いします!例文はばっちりでした。

こんにちは!
四字熟語のレッスンありがとうございます!やっと新しいことを習えるレッスンがありました。
「単刀直入」について質問があります:
「ぶっちゃけ」との違いは何ですか?違う意味がありますか?それとも「ぶっちゃけ」の方が話し言葉ですか?
Wednesday at 3:42 pm
りざさん
「ぶっちゃけ」は「正直に言って」という意味です。単刀直入は「すぐに本題(main topic)に入ります」という意味ですから、意味は違います。「ぶっちゃけ」は使う相手に気をつけて下さい。きちんとした場面では絶対に使えません。

皆さん、こちらこぞ、よろしくお願いします!
面白いトッピクです!I just wonder, if the nuance of 大器晩成 is only positive? In English can be both positive and negative。 Late Bloomer というのは日本語で 「奥手」という言葉も使えますでしょう… 「大器晩成」と比べて、意味は違うかもしれない、ね。
わるいけど、この点を長く考えているので、誰か 説明してくれませんか。単刀直入に言って、頭はごちゃごちゃにしています。I am having fun, but also lost in translation.
Thursday at 12:29 pm
Yogi-san
大器晩成 has almost always positive meaning. 「奥手」と「大器晩成」は、残念ながら全く意味は違います。奥手というのはshy, not aggressive, not mature enough for it’s ageというニュアンスです. 奥手 is often used for describing someone’s personality.
