Feeling great? Feel blue?
It’s amazing what a difference two kanji will make.
The Japanese language has two fantastic words to describe these states. Today we’ll learn two yojijukugo (4 kanji compounds) which start with the same two Chinese characters but have extremely different meanings after adding the final two.

Learn Japanese kanji and have fun!

another great lesson !

avatar Peter says:

Eric-san, ありがとうございます! :dogeza: There are a few exceptionally good ones coming up! Really practical, useful and above all….they will wow your friends. I mean really wow!

I’m looking to get “Adventure Of English”, for my audio book, it’s also 12 hours.

I’d be interested to find out what everyone else got, you can tell a lot about people about what words they get, right?

今朝人気な携帯ストラップを落としたから今意気消沈していますよ。。。

avatar Brian says:

Yeah, thanks for starting this series. I’ve wanted to learn more of these phrases and I even have a book on them, but it’s kinda hard to just sit down and start memorizing them. It’s far easier to just get two every week, along with a breakdown of meaning and some context. I really appreciate it!

見つかった!!!! 意気揚々になちゃったわ!!! :kokoro:

avatar fudatsu says:

意気揚々ですね。The way Peter said that, I could see hearing it in a hip hop song. ahahah

avatar Peter says:

Fudatsu-san, 面白い!

プチクレアさん、よかったですね!意気消沈の使い方はバッチリでしたけど、意気揚々は後もう少しらしい。。。まもなく森先生が説明してくれます。森先生、よろしくお願いいたします。 :dogeza:

Brian-san, yes. This series is really fun! And we have few lessons coming up that are really something! Thanks for the feedback!

どうもどうも、森です。

「見つかった!!!! 意気揚々になちゃったわ!!! :kokoro: 」←ちょっと面白い文です。
「意気揚々=やる気まんまん!」が一番近い意味です。

たとえば、
「意気揚々で大学のテストを受けた。」=「やる気まんまんで大学のテストを受けた。」
「指輪を買って意気揚々と彼女にプロポーズした」=「指輪を買って、やる気まんまんで彼女にプロポーズした。」

どうです?ムズイ??

avatar PrettyNappy says:

This is a great series! I can definately see how using these phrases can give you a conversational edge. I can’t wait to use them in my next class!
