ありがとうございます、I have been wondering what the best way to say medical student is. I should have asked , would have been better.

Our family dog is a pomeranian. Naomi-sensei, your dog is a beagle, right? But not a smart beagle? I think I remember you mentioning your dog in one of the lessons.

Thank you for answering my question about marriage proposals in Japan. I got confused somehow, but it makes sense now.

→ This should be 妹が三人　（imouto ga san-nin) “three sisters”

→ We usually use the kanji 犬 for dogs.

→ 医学生 is more natural

About the marriage proposal, in modern Japan, I think it’s common a guy proposed his girlfriend first then meet her parents afterward.
Traditionally… well… it all depends on the era, social level, family and so on… But there was the era when parents arranged their children’s marriage.(They choose the spouses for their children.)
In that case, the couple don’t even meet before they get married.

I’ve been to busy to have had a girlfriend yet, so I can’t comment on meeting my future girlfriend’s parents, but I do have a question. In the states, traditionally you would ask your girlfriend’s parents for permission to marry their daughter. I know most people in the states don’t really do that anymore, but in Japan is it tradition to propose first and meet her parents afterwards?

Nice story at the start. Nearly exactly the same thing happened to me in Nagasaki! I went to a small church and was asked to introduce myself :S Wish I’d have gotten this far by then Feeling more like family at the church now.

Nihongo Dojo - Style You and Beyond refers to Newbie Season 3. We adjusted the lesson names so that they don’t include “Style You and Beyond” anymore, so we may have to go through the PDFs and change the names of the lessons that are referenced.

where exactly is Japanese Nihongo Dojo You and Beyond 18, or all of the other lessons that are constantly referenced in the pdf file?

Seriously… can’t find them at all. Only grip i have with this website, the navigation is sometimes lackluster. Constructive criticism.
