If you take a look at the chorus, the word telepathy IS used... and the form in which the yojijukugo is said (sung, actually) is "bokura wa itsumo ishindenshin" 僕らはいつも以心伝心 二人の距離つなぐ　テレパシー There’s a pop song by Orange Range called Ishindenshin, which is where I first heard the phrase. So what are the other definitions in your dictionary? OK. The dictionary may say that “ishindenshin” can be translated by telepathy. No problem with that.
