These lessons are designed to introduce basic Japanese with the end goal of enabling the student to substantially increase his/her listening and reading comprehension skills. With over 100 lessons and dialogs, the beginner level course is designed to cover the basic grammar along with hundreds of frequently used vocabulary words.
This ongoing series is aimed at the Japan-bound traveler, and provides the listener with useful phrases, tips, and situations associated with travel in Japan. The first 10 lessons also offer an excellent starting point for anyone new to the language.
These lessons are geared towards the absolute beginner who is just coming into contact with this fascinating language. In this series we introduce essential basics of the Japanese language to give you the strong foundation you need to continue on to our beginner series. In this series we cover a large amount of vocabulary, so it could also be used as a refresher course.
These lessons are designed for students with some previous experience in learning Japanese. The situations, vocabulary, and conversations mimic those that one would encounter in real life on a daily basis when interacting with friends, acquaintances, etc.

Are you a freak of nature? Miki thinks she is! She has a strange effect on magnetized strips. What do you think? Is Miki a freak of nature? Or do you have the same problem? After listening, stop by and be sure to leave her a post!

ひさひぶり!
I have fallen way, way, wayyyyyy behind on the Lessons, but I know they are all here waiting, like Christmas presents waiting to be opened later! (I went back to Beginner and started over, hoping to gain a deeper understanding of structure and grammar.)
BUT, Wow!! Have you tried rolling the mouse over the pictures on these lessons? (A little bird told me about this ) Maybe it’s been mentioned in the Comments before? Anyway, take a look!
Start with this picture!!
Nice going, Marky-san! This light-heartedness and playfulness has always been a hallmark of Japapnesepod101.com Never stop!!
Lizさん、お久し振りですね!
And you’re right, the lessons are there waiting for you! Not sure how far behind you are, but we’ve had some real doozies lately!
ありがとうございます!
Try keeping your bank cards etc away from your cell phone. A hotel clerk told me that if you place magnetic cards near your cell phone the radiation from the cell phone will inactivate the cards.
Thanks for the advice about the pictures !!! LOL !
Markさん,
I’m 100% in favor of getting 美樹さん accepted into the X-men (come to think of it, there’s a Japanese mutant in this week’s “Astonishing X-Men”, but unfortunately her name isn’t 美樹…)
I’m writing from a computer that can’t write in Japanese. Gomen ne.
I had a friend once who would use up watch batteries in much the same way and Miki-san “uses up” magnetism on cards. Most of us change watch batteries every few years; he had to get new batteries every month! I wonder if it’s the same kind of phenomenon?
Anyway, I really enjoy Miki-san’s blogs, and no I don’t think she’s a freak.
これは、秘密の!
The following secret has been heavily guarded and handed down from generation to generation. May the good community at 101 keep passing the torch of wisdom on.
According to ancient foreign(er) folklore in Tokyo, if you kiss someone with supernatural spider-like powers many times you’ll forever be happy and your magnetic cards will work like a charm.
So it is written.
Amen

Perhaps the X-Men will recruit Miki-san. Her anti-magnetic powers could help them in their fight against Magneto.

磁気のカードは携帯電話の近くに置いたら、利かなくなる可能性があると言われます…
それとも、美樹さんは本当に特別なパワーを出していますか。
美樹さん、がんばってください!!!

プチクレアさん
僕もいると信じたいです。たぶん、宇宙のどこかにいるはずです!
プチクレアさん、「挿話」はepisodeの意味ですかね?日本人は、挿話より、エピソードとよく言います
Neilさん
「僕が駐車した自動車も置いた鍵も違った所に動きます」
→それは怖いですね。宇宙人がしたのでしょうか?!
「扱われます?
扱いされます?
違いますか?」
→「扱われます」と「扱い(Noun)をされます」は同じ意味ですよ
Mawiewawaさん
それは、そうとうなパワーですね!!笑 この前はオフィスで会えて良かったです

僕はこの前BBC Newsの記事に載っていた研究者の意見:
“My personal view is it is way too arrogant to think that we are the only ones living in the Universe”
に大賛成です。
日本語に訳しますと、こうなるかな。。。
“自分の個人的な意見では我々が宇宙の中で唯一な存在だと考えるのが傲慢です。”

僕も磁気にダメな気がする。通帳が何回も磁気がなくなった。 コメントすごい遅いけど。
あ、宇宙人に関してはノコメント
