True story:

When I was a teenager, I got a job as a counselor at a summer camp in Vermont. During the first few days, before the campers arrived, we had to apply for different jobs inside a summer camp. Anyway, I really wanted to be assigned the job as Tennis instructor. But I had a リバル who was a far better Tennis player than me.

The day of the tennis trials, we were first asked to go and round up all the animals for the camp’s farm and bring them into a pen. This wasn’t so simple, because there were cows, donkeys and horses all spread out in a big pasture and some woods and we had to round them all up. So what I did is I told my リバル , “ok, I’ll get cows and the donkeys, you go get the horses and the llamas.”

“Oh,” he looked at me “we have llamas this year?”

“Yeah,” I told him, “the camp director thought it would be fun to have some exotic animals this year for the kids…they like to hang out pretty deep into the woods, though…”

So off he went to look for the llamas which, of course, didn’t exist at all. Needless to say, he missed the tennis trials!
