Are you ready to enter the shrine? There are many unique customs in Japan, some of the most interesting are the ones are associated with Japanese religion. Today’s lesson takes place under a chōzuya, the place where you purify yourself before entering a Japanese shrine or temple.
We’ll be looking at practical Japanese phrase dō shitara ii no da, which is useful asking someone what to do. You’ll never be at a loss again!

Mina-san, do you purify yourself when you enter shrines or do you sneak in with dirty hands?
今日のレッスンはすごく面白かったですよね ! いつもありがとうございました !!
The explanations about Japanese religious customs were great ! プレミアムレッスンがなくするのは残念なのに…I’m not worried that you’ll come up with something great, but if you considered bringing back the JCC, I guess a lot of people would love that …
i’ve never been to one yet , thanks for the explanation
i would like to know more about religion in Japan
thank you for your hard work
I’ve really enjoyed the Premium lessons. Please don’t make this the last one.
Hey! I really think you should give us a more thorough explanation about what you intend to do with these Saturday spots. Will the Premium lessons be replaced with something different on Saturdays? Or are you going to {gasp} drop the lesson frequency from 6 a week to 5 a week!?
Or have you not decided yet?
Anyway, we’re your kyaku (or is that kyaku-tachi!?) We expect lots of cow-towing and honorific snivelling from companies we bring business to! So shape up, JPod101! You need to tell us what’s up!
I am going to miss the premium lessons also. I really have liked the levels of vocabulary and grammar in the premium lessons. I also liked the mix of Japanese and English during Peter and Naomi-sensei’s conversation (kind of in between how the Beginner and the Lower Intermediate lessons are done). If you are out of pictures, you are welcome to any of mine from my trips to Japan.
Uh, I will definitely also miss the premium lessons. Please continue! Onegai shimasu!
Those premiumlessons were great.
It was a kind of TCC (Tokyo culture Class).
Let’s go to KCC (Kyoto Culture Class) !
Arigatou gozaimashita !
Great lessons, I highly enjoyed them!
But on a sidenote: The link to the video vocab isn’t correct, it links to video #25, maybe you should look into that matter
