BTW, I enjoyed listening to Rebecca’s clear, methodical presentation of the lesson. & I thought Naomi & Rebecca’s discussion at the end was very interesting. 
One question: When responding affirmatively to an involved question about a situation, is it better to use そうです in place of はい/ええ, or is はい/ええ sufficient?

はい and そうです are both fine.
ええ could be rude if you use a lot.
Also you can say はい、そうです which is even more polite.

Hi Guys, have noticed a small mistake in the pdf file.
On the fifth page on the No. 1 practice line, the romaji reads ‘omimasu’ when it should be ‘nomimasu’.
Sorry if I sound picky here, but I spent 5 minutes trying to find out what ‘omimasu’ means!
