Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com! Your girlfriend’s mother makes the best cup of coffee. Maybe after a couple of cups, you can straighten out your head and recover from last night’s nightmare. That was terrible. Funny thing, you now remember that in the dream, your girlfriend was not speaking Japanese, but you were. You turn your attention to your girlfriend as she sits next to you at the table. “Good morning,” you say in your best Japanese. “Good morning. Are you enjoying your coffee?” she asks in Japanese. Amazed by the full, rich taste of this coffee, you reply in Japanese, “Yes, your mother makes the best cup of coffee in the world!!” The look in her eyes is worth a lot. You can tell she thinks very highly of you for being polite to her mother. So you decide to see if you can do even better in her eyes. You tell her in Japanese, “I would love to have a second helping of this coffee! Honey, I am so happy to meet your parents. They are wonderful.” Absolutely beside herself, she exclaims in Japanese, “Oh, Mom thinks you are the best, too!” Thrilled that you have been able to make everyone happy despite your own distress, you say in Japanese, “Then are you ready to go on our long drive today! We will have a lot of fun I am sure!” Excitedly, she replies in Japanese, “Yes, we are going to have a blast! Let’s get that second cup of coffee and then hit the road!” Learning
