TOKYO - When Yosuke the parrot flew out of his cage and got lost, he did exactly what he had been taught — recite his name and address to a stranger willing to help.
Police rescued the African grey parrot two weeks ago from a neighbor’s roof in the city of Nagareyama, near Tokyo. After spending a night at the station, he was transferred to a nearby veterinary hospital while police searched for clues, local policeman Shinjiro Uemura said.
He kept mum with the cops, but began chatting after a few days with the vet.

“I’m Mr. Yosuke Nakamura,” the bird told the veterinarian, according to Uemura. The parrot also provided his full home address, down to the street number, and even entertained the hospital staff by singing songs.
“We checked the address, and what do you know, a Nakamura family really lived there. So we told them we’ve found Yosuke,” Uemura said.
The Nakamura family told police they had been teaching the bird its name and address for about two years.
But Yosuke apparently wasn’t keen on opening up to police officials.
“I tried to be friendly and talked to him, but he completely ignored me,” Uemura said.

WOW……I personally don’t know what is BIG DEAL anyway…..
Coldstone and Krispy Kreme are staples here in Vegas so it isn’t common too see
a virtually EMPTY store here. Besides aren’t both of the stores too sweet for Japanese tastes? Maybe it’s the fact there that they give free donuts at Krispy Kreme. Actually I am more of a Dunkin Donuts fan……..

Thursday at 7:42 am
The Krispy Kreme by my house just went out of business. However, there are Coldstones going up everywhere here. Still never been to a Coldstone though

Thank you for letting us know the mistake in the vocabulary list.
I fixed it.

循環(circulation/circle)する
=悪循環(vicious circle)

>David
Thursday at 8:14 pm
Thursday at 8:18 pm
oops.

That’s funny! I’m in Tokyo this week for the first time since that Krispy Kreme opened, and I thought the line there the last time (which was a lot longer) was just because it’s new. There was still a huge line yesterday, though. It seems like folks in Tokyo must really like those Krispy Kreme donuts. (I like them, I just don’t like them enough to stand in line for one.)
My happy discovery of the day, though, was that the Miyazaki store on the sourthern terrace sells Skal, a soft drink I really like and had thought was only available in Osaka…
Wednesday at 5:33 am
holiday, hotel, donut, exchange shop, it’s better to wait at a proper time.

Hey everyone, this is my first comment on JapanesePod even though I’ve been a member for awhile.
Recently, the lessons seem to be becoming huge and bloated. All these extra things are starting to bother me. Whatever happened to a nice clean 15 minute lesson?
The reason I chose to comment in the audio blog section is that I don’t really like this “blog plus” we have these days. I prefer the old 3 minute mini-lessons. So here is a suggestion, add the option to iTunes, lesson(aka BlogPlus) and audio(aka blog, only Miki’s blog). This way people have the choice of whether to listen to the commentary or not.
What do you guys think? yay or nay?
Wednesday at 10:48 am
Whoops! I was just looking at more recent lessons, and they seem to have come down a bit in size… great~! I still think we should have the option of only listening to Miki’s Blog and not the commentary though…
My goal for the month, finally finish the first 170 Beginner lessons by the end of June, only 30 more to go! Wish me luck!
Wednesday at 3:52 pm
Phil! And I hope you find some more time to post~!
