The furoshiki is a piece of cloth used for carrying things in (often food), and I take the metaphorical meaning to be that you're carrying extra work home in it. BTW, the kanji for fu-ro (as in the Japanese style bath) is just for sound. It doesn't really have anything to do with wind and whatever 呂ro means. The shiki 敷refers to the cloth, I think, as in "shiku"　敷く to spread out. The cloth is spread out, things are placed in the centre and then the opposite corners are tied up to create a parcel (easier to show than explain how to do). At least, that's my take on it.
