Start Learning Japanese at JapanesePod101.com! Fabrizio lost his wallet (seems he loses lots of things!) so he goes to ask a keisatsukan (police officer) about it. We’ll introduce o- and go-, two important honorific prefixes. We’ll also review some verb conjugation. If you’re wasureppoi (person who tends to lose things), then this will be an important lesson for you! After listening, stop by JapanesePod101.com and be sure to leave us a post!

avatar Keith says:

Uh, two newbie lessons in a week. Is this normal? :)

avatar Peter says:

Great job Mayumi, this is really nice work!

A person, nope, not normal. We’re making up for Golden Week.

avatar プチクレア says:

Fabrizio should be extremely careful, if he usually carries around the kind of money that’s on the picture ! It’s a good thing his wallet was empty this time… or his dream might have turned to nightmare !

私も忘れっぽくないです。Probably because I tend to check everything twice…. (especially my keys…)

avatar watermen says:

Very nice picture, are you all going to have pictures for the future lessons?

avatar mayumi says:

Yes, we are going to have pictures for each lesson from now on!

レッソンが二つ?お疲れさまで〜す!

Mina-san

[忘れっぽい/wasureppoi = forgetful] is a good phrase to know.
私は忘れっぽいです。/Watashi wa wasureppoi desu. = I’m forgetful.

For “I loose things a lot”, you can also say…
私は よく 物を なくします。Watashi wa yoku mono o nakushimasu.
よく/yoku=often
もの/mono=item, things
なくします/nakushimasu=to lose

みなさんは、最近、物をなくしましたか?
Mina-san wa saikin, mono o nakushimashita ka?
Did you lose things recently?

avatar Naomi says:

Oops!
“I tend to lose things” NOT loose!
すみません。

avatar watermen says:

Wow..so there will be pictures in the future. I love these beautiful pics. Can we have important phrases in the pictures? I want to collect this pictures and use it as a flash card.

Naomi,

最近、大好きな人をなくしました。悲しいですね。。。

avatar ヒョヌ(Hyunwoo Sun) says:

avatar Naomi says:

watermen-san

それは悲しいですね…。元気に出してください。

avatar VGcat says:

I lost my wallet once. I searched my house for hours but, then I looked in my FRONT pocket… and there it was.
