Mina-san, have you been to a baseball game lately?
Wow…awesome video, very professional. I love it, can we have more of this in the future.
waterman-san, thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoyed it
This is the first of a multi-part series, so there’s plenty more to come in the near future
The PDF’s grammar point looks like a mess, it is very difficult to read. Is it possible to rearrange the lines to make it easier to read?
Sakura is awesome…..looking forward to the second part.
wow, looking forward to seeing the rest of the series. Sakura, that interview with nyaa san is great. I even could understand some of it. Did you ask him to speak slowly?
and very nice intro Jeff!
Can we have an HD version?
Thanks for the video, enjoyed it alot! I was just at Safeco field for a Mariners game last week (It was Ichiro Bobble head night, yeah!) but sadly we lost to the A’s. I’ll be sure to stop by Marine Stadium sometime in the future!
That was a wonderful video. Today in New York there was a Sakura Matsuri at the Botanical Garden too.
Great job Sukura and the japanesepod101 crew. Great intro, great video. I am looking forward to more of the baseball game. I makes me want to come to a game. Hope to see more video of other parts of Japan.
Nice job I really enjoyed it!
Great work Sakura and Japanesepod101 team.
GREAT video !! すごい! Great job, sakura-san and everyone else on the team!! インタービュもすごく面白かったし、スタジアムの雰囲気もすごかったんですね!!! Thanks again for the great video !
Great job. I enjoyed the video.
I look forward to seeing more of the journey around Japan series with Sakuraさん.
Mina-san, ありがとうございます!
Sakura、ありがとうございます! ![]()
Chiba Lotte Marines、ありがとうございます!
Thank you again for everyone who made this possible! Since this video, we’ve been to Marine Stadium twice to see the Marines play, and I can’t say enough about the Marine’s organization, first rate across the board.
On a quick personnel note, can you believe this is the first time Sakura has done this? Is she a natural, or what? Ganbatte, Sakura!
The production was really high quality!! I enjoyed every second!!
It was like being there! I want to listen to this again several times because, thanks to the subtitles, I might pick up a few more words! That pitcher was so cute because he hoped we could learn by listening to his rather slow speech! How kind! Thanks for all your work!! It’s awesome!
Sakura-san - - Awesome job! ![]()
And, Bobby Valentine — what a charmer!!
I hope the Marines can move out of 4th place, though!
I must admit that I’m not much of a baseball fan, but I still enjoyed this video a great deal. I’m looking forward to future Jpod videos.
mina-san, there’s more around the corner! glad everyone enjoyed the first installment!
the next time we go to a game, we hope EVEN MORE listeners will come out! (i think we dominated the stand deck last time!) even if you don’t watch baseball, you’ll have a good time!
ain’t nuthin’ but a party, ya’ll! awww yeah!
ありがとうございました!
素晴らしいビデオでした。さくらさんは絶対にジャパニーズポッドのエースですね。
I think Peter may have trouble holding onto Sakura san now. This has opened up a whole new career choice for her.
I am really looking forward to more ジャパニーズポッドの作品
Matt-san, でしょう!Tell me about it! Chigusa II! One day we may get her to visit us again! 頑張ります!
am not a big fan of baseball but that was great, waiting for the next one!!
minasan,
I love baseball! But somehow, I can’t play the video, even though I have Quicktime installed. Any advice?
Have a nice day, all.
Japanesepod101.com, great video, more power, more videos
Sakura-san.. awesome perfomance
Marky-san.. 羨ましいですね thats a feat dominating the left stand field by janesepod101, next time i hope i can join..
i just saw it , that was wonderful
great job especially Sakura san , i wish you guys could do this more often
to show us Japan a little more
thank you
Cool video. I understood maybe 40% since there was a lot of vocabulary I didn’t know, so I’ll be sure to check out the PDF
Sakura did really well. After saying she was nervous in that news lesson, it didn’t really show; she carried herself as well as some of the news reporters I’ve seen, but with more enthusiasm and character
Definitely looking forward to the next instalment
That was really good!! sakura you did such a fantastic job!! im looking foward to the next videos
Japanesepo101 is the best!
すごい! i really like the idea of video podcasts ![]()
And Sakuraさん was really great!
looking forward to more videos
.
is there a possibility to add japanese subtitles too? I think it would be very effective to read them..at least for me
Sakura is such a superstar, it is ridiculous.
And the only thing better than baseball is baseball introduced by jpod101.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
While this was awesome there is one thing I really didn’t understand:
what’s with the chewing gum?
Kare-san,
I think it’s because the corporate owners of the Chiba Lotte Marines is the Lotte Candy Company?
Someone else want to explain?
Correction of my English (I am a native speaker, hahaha!)
*The corporate owner of the Marines is the Lotte Candy Company.” (Subject and object have to agree, as to plurals, hahaha!
Hi Liz21.
I figured there was something of the like going on, but I still don’t get why I get market placement (which is mainly pointless, because I won’t get my hands on these gums anytime soon) in an educational language learning podcast.
If it is a a kind of one-brandname-for-all-products I could understand that, but I kinda doubt it. (Like, a umbrella term you can use for all gums)
I know it was humorous with a wink at the site.
Or maybe it is just my cultural background:
if they sponser something, they should be in the credits; if you want to do them a favour mention it once, not introduce it as a running gag. Around here this could get you into real trouble… at least in the long run. (Some cooking shows recently had problems with surreptitious advertising, that could be why it’s on my mind…)
The Team is owned by a Candy Company? o_O
Okay, now that’s… unusual? ![]()
Okay, so maybe there is a real good reason for the gum thing being in there. Sorry for not getting it in the first run.
The product placement is a little bold ^^
I was also a little surprised they actually own the team. Normally companies just buy the name of a team or a stadion. But i found that the Lotte Group is a big conglomerate. They own quite a few businesses which are more or less related.

Dear Japanesepod101.com, ![]()
Thank you so much for this Video. Especially Sakura先生
for using easy words during the Show. As a lower Intermidiate Student, I was able to understand most of the stuff without looking at the Subtitles.
Oh, no!
Chiba Lotte Marines have dropped to 5th place (out of 6 teams in their league)
What can stop this downward spiral?
Ganbatte!
On a happier note — I can watch the video on my new iPod!!
So much fun!! Thanks.
Oh nice video indeed! I want to thank you, Japanesepod101 for this video and especially you, Sakura-san!
Ganbatte kudasai
oooo this was wonderful!
Can you please do one for Tendo and Shogi It would work well with a Shogi related Kanji lesson
Amazing video! Since the iLove series, I was really missing those.
And here, with Sakura, it’s just amazing.
We want more, we want more, we want more!
I am now convinced that Suzuki Sakura san invented professionalism in both Interviewing and Instructional techniques.
To the crew that is behind this magnificent video ものすごいです、 どうもありがとうございました。
Awesome vid sakura san! …and the rest of the crew! i’ll be in Tokyo June 5 for about a week or so…maybe i’ll stop by the studio!
Loved the video. I wish there were more.
Very professional Sakura.
Wow this was a great video. Really well made and very interesting. Would love to see more stuff like this.
Many Thanks.
すぶらしですね!I just took my 日本人ともうだち to a Diamondbacks game recently; your time at the やくうガム seemed 少し面白いです. I really liked it, and hope to see more. Oh yeah, I have a suggestion/queston: A friend asked me if Dog Collars were a new fashion craze in 日本. ほんとですか。Maybe next could be fasion trip to harajuuku?
ありがとうございます。
Mina-san, atatakai komento wo arigatou gozaimasu! ![]()
I am glad you enjoyed the video. Jeff-san, intro kakko yokatta desu!
And thank you so much to Larry-san and all people who made this possible ![]()
It was such an amazing experience!
In fact, after shooting the video, I was all “oh…, I should have said this” and
“I shouldn’t have said that,” but thanks to your encouragement ![]()
and the great editing, I’m feeling “ganbaruzooo!” ![]()
So thank you again.
We will be introducing lots of exciting things we saw at Chiba Marine Stadium
in the coming installments. I hope you will like them, too!
Mina-san, korekaramo yoroshiku onegaishimasu
Great video - it was very fun to hear the interviews! We went to see Seibu Lions last year, and it was fun to watch Japanese baseball!
Could you try printing subtitles in kanji, like real TV? It would be great practice, especially using the PDF and watching it over again.
Doumo arigatou gozaimasu. Sakura ga kawaii !Totemo tanoshii desu.
That was awesome. It was actually the first time in a while I’ve watched something about baseball and not gotten annoyed. (I LOATHE ‘Red Sox Nation’) I can’t wait to see more!
SAKURAは 教え方が 適切で声も優しいです。SAKURA teaches properly and has a tender voice.
It was a great video, Sakura-san! Looking forward to seeing more of your reports.
Sakura-san, I really enjoyed the baseball video. I’ve been to Tokyo Dome for a game against the Hanshin Tigers before they moved to Hokaido. Would love to know what the cheers are, so organized and loud! More of these videos, please!! … but do remember us Beginner speakers, who need those sub-titles.
Finally got the chance to watch this. As a HUGE Hanshin Tigers fan who has had the privilege of seeing several games at the awesome Koshien, I was thrilled to see a piece on Japanese baseball. I personally think that Japanese baseball is much more entertaining than American baseball because of the wholehearted energy of the crowd. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of the fans during the game in order to compare Hanshin fans to another team’s fans. The organized taiko drumming and chants were awesome (at Koshien) and even lent a bit of NBA atmosphere to the ball game. I even got good enough to yell the chants along.
Sakura was awesome and the filmography was very slick.
And, no offense Marines, but GO TIGERS GO!!!!
I enjoyed the video very much. Sakura san certainly does a great job for her first time as video reporter! I have fond memories of seeing the Marines play a few times in the late 90s and still have my souvenir cap and jersey. So it’s been a few months now–when might Part 2 be scheduled to appear? We are waiting eagerly…
“So it’s been a few months now–when might Part 2 be scheduled to appear? We are waiting eagerly…”
+ 1. I’m also waiting eagerly.
Wow its nice to see the marines stadium again. I can’t belive you are in chiba! Chiba is a very beautiful place with flower everywhere. Say a Konichiwa to my friend Ryu-Kun in Chuo-ken. on japanese baseball games they rate the mph on a pitcher’s throw that surprises me a bit. But I never got to go inside the marine stadium. I just went to the beach nearby it.
