Just because you guys don't use it in Tokyo, you sholdn't write it off. We don't all need to speak formal business language.:hachimaki: Having lved in Yamagata for a couple of years, it’s cool to hear some Tohokuben every now and then. So, with this 日本語を勉強したら、Jpod101がいいよ。 It is an opinion about and suggestion about Jpod, not an actual fact that takes place after studying Japanese. Hopefully I explained that properly. waterman-san

Nihongo o benkyou suru nara, japanesepod101 ga iiyo.
This なら/nara can be translated as “if,” “if it is the case”

Nihongo o benkyoushitara, ________.
This たら/tara can be translated as “if,” “when” or “after.”
“[ clause 1 ] tara [ clause 2 ]”
Basically, [clause 2] takes place after [clause 1]’s condition is filled.
The sample sentence should be
Nihongo o benkyoushitara, nihon ni ikitaku naru.
If you study Japanese, I would feel tempted to go to Japan.

In [clause 2], you have to put a thing happens after you studied Japanese.

So, your original sample sentence
Nihongo o benkyoushitara, japanesepod101 ga iiyo.
is unfortunately wrong, because “to study Japanese” doesn’t necessarily happen before “listening to japanesepod101.”

I have to go now. I'll explain it later.

First all all, please review the formation of ーtara conditional.
plain past(ta) + ra

So the first clause of second sentence should be

Oh no!… it’s time to go to the studio. I have to go now. I’ll explain it later.
