Mina-san, if had flashcards at a baseball game, would you use them?
Sunday at 10:08 pm
What’s the “Naomi, sort of” tag supposed to mean ?
I have 2 questions :
- when do we get to see the video? I actually have never seen baseball, even on TV (except in anime). So I’m very excited about this !
- There have been mentions (in this month newsletter, on the Kclass boards…) that you will be putting out a RussianPod101. What time frame are we looking at ? 1month ? 3 months ? 6 ? Я очень хочу изучать руский язык RussianPod101ом (not sure about the declension here !). Now that there will be a nice corporate site to put it on…
Sunday at 11:11 pm
I’m glad iFluency didn’t win. I think I agree with what people were saying about languagepod101. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s easy to remember, keeps with the current naming convention, and if people have been attracted to all the other sites by ‘pod101′ then there’s got to be something to it.
Sunday at 11:36 pm
プチクレア,
Russianpod101.com is just around the corner. Keep your eyes open, there will certainly be a post about it soon.

Are there Philadelphia cheese steak in Japan? haha…it is nice though, but not a healthy food.
Monday at 12:30 am
I support languagepod101.com too. The name says everything.
Monday at 2:27 am
プチクレアさん、the video will be out soon!
Video is a lot of work!
Monday at 4:42 am
languagepod101.com! So simple!
I’m very excited about RussianPod101 too! I actually met several people that spoke Russian when I was in Japan. I’m terrible at speaking it though. I’m MUCH better at Japanese
Monday at 9:56 am
I love “languagepod101.com”.
Russian will be really fun!
Monday at 12:10 pm
They had it planned all along. We were all duped into believing that they were actually going to give a prize for the best name. Man, were we ever taken for a ride.
Um, yeah, we are going to have a contest so give us your best, and 5000 people spent their time, and then you say “well, I changed my mind, noone will name my baby”
Then they rigged it by putting a bunch of phony chump names up there to take a dive. And, if that wasn’t a solid enough guarantee, the voting mechanism allowed mulitple votes so they could conveniently rack up the votes in the favor of the original one so they did not have to give out a prize.
I don’t care that I didn’t win, but somebody should have.
Monday at 1:04 pm
I am glad it rained on you.
I hope it rains again.
Monday at 2:28 pm
I can see it now…
Peter getting everyone together…
“Here’s the plan. First we say we’re having a contest to rename the company… we ask for entries, but then we’ll completely make up 8 really bad entries to let them vote on… then we’ll come up with a name by ourselves! It’s foolproof!”
Or maybe, hundreds of jpod users (myself included) discovered the hard way that they’re not, in fact, very good at coming up with names. I am looking forward to when this whole issue can blow over and the conspiracy theories can end.
Monday at 4:44 pm
Joe and Kanji, are you really that rotten?

If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.
Monday at 4:45 pm
Oh, and I understand the desire to fix the name, but it’s already established and easy to remember. I like the name.
Monday at 5:23 pm
Joe-san, I was actually referring to my real child not the site, with my first born.
I really hope there was no confusion, as listening back I think I could hear how it could be misinterpreted.
Monday at 8:26 pm
Peter The Great!
There’s no way russianpod won’t be awesome under a guy like you!
Looking forward to the next baseball game, when the weather will be better and the only heated debates will be about the DH, and maybe which fan club jersey you are wearing.
Monday at 10:01 pm
You edited my comments. Like Stalin, you are afraid of the truth.
Monday at 10:46 pm
nobody edited your comments
Monday at 10:51 pm
Marky-san, don’t feed the troll.
Some people don’t have friends and can only feel good talking trash from behind the anonymity of their computer screen. Just ignore him and he’ll go away.
Monday at 11:03 pm
I’ve never been to a baseball game!
Monday at 11:04 pm
These guys who came up with the reject names are great
Tuesday at 12:00 am
ジャービジさん、久々!
エミリーさん、we’re going May 1st, 5pm Tokyo station or 6:15/6:30 at Marine Stadium.
Steve-san, 賢い人ですね。
M-Crash, we’ll be there on the 1st! This time we want a win!
Kitty-chan, my heroin!
なんて強い猫ちゃん。
Matt-san, priceless.
Actually, conspiracy theories sounds like a great series.
プチクレア, Liz-san and スコットさん、Russian should be fun! And hopefully starting with in a few months. Will take time to get up to full production.
スコットさん, ジャービジ, Liz-san, as always, thanks for the feedback! LanguagePod101, this seems quite popular.
Tuesday at 2:11 am
Hahaha, ジャービジ, I’d love to get my hands on the reject list.
I didn’t submit anything personally because my 10 minute brainstorm session yielded some really bad ones. I’m curious what the 5000 other choices were.
Kanji, pipe down or go troll on some other website.
One of my comments got deleted one time for being negative - and jpod has a right to moderate the community. You’re not just being negative but downright hateful, frankly I’m surprised your comments are still up there.
Tuesday at 2:32 am
Peterさん,
I guess it leaves me some time to brush on my Russian, then
Tuesday at 10:34 am
I don’t think there was any conspiracy but I do agree that if a prize was offered and a competition declared, there ought to have been a winner.
Tuesday at 12:02 pm
Peter-san,

Do you have a baby now?? I am so surprised!! Why wasn’t this fact in the news or did I miss it? Tell us more — boy? girl? name?
Yeah, I really thought you were referring to “your baby” the Innovative Language thing!
Tuesday at 1:00 pm
Liz-san, not yet. I was referring to my unborn baby.
Tuesday at 2:20 pm
Peter!!!
You are the best!
Were you inspired to have a baby by the 7th inning balloon launch?
Also, what the H– is wrong with that Kanji guy? Good lord, he s more full of anger than Anton Chigurh in “No Country For Old Men.”
If he logs on with an air-powered nail gun next time, RUN!!!!!!!!
Tuesday at 3:34 pm
Peter-san
I will be there on May 1 as well!
M-Crash classic reference because if that Kanji guy did have an air-powered nail gun (as Anton Chigurh) there will be blood!
Tuesday at 4:24 pm
btw - since we didn’t get a clear winner from the voting (the old names won), we were confused as how to proceed. after some consideration, it seems like the logical thing to do is to give the lifetime subscriptions to ALL 8 FINALISTS.
we’ll make a public announcement about this shortly!
超ありがとう!
Wednesday at 1:40 pm
ok thanks for my nice prize, I’m not quietly disgruntled anymore, I’m happy!
Wednesday at 6:13 pm
Glenn san ,
Are you Glenn in Jref forum ?
I think that there will be many people in Jref having interest in this website.
