We really appreciate your comment. Actually, all the Fabrizio’s lines have already been re-recorded long time ago to swap with the current lines. However our audio team is so short handed that we are still waiting for them to finish the editing.

My apologies for the feminine speech, but I don’t think I can do anything with my Japanese accent.
We actually have been looking for a male native Japanese teacher for the show. So far, we have no luck.
We have a male host, Yuichi in Lower Intermediate lessons. Hopefully, he will take over my place in the near future when he’s got enough experience.

As for Fabrizio, the Italian stereotype is one thing, and I’m glad that season 4 has left Style U behind. I feel that it’s more of a homophobic stereotype than anything else. In the S2 portion of the course, when Peter-san was having Naomi and a male (whose name escapes me) Japanese speaker do the lessons, that was when it was most offensive. I love that Fabrizio is effeminate! Great. But to have the “teachers” make comments about whether he is a man or not? Definitely in poor taste.

I just have never seen the logic in a language learning podcast modeling accented speech for NEWBIE learners. Sometimes Fabrizio puts the accent on the wrong syllable, teaching me the wrong way to speak the language. And with Naomi modeling all the time, I begin to worry that my speech in Japanese will sound either too feminine, or too Italian.

I don’t know if anyone reads these things after the lesson has gone up months ago, but I just had to vent on this one.

Are there any words for thigh or calf or other ways of differentiating different parts of the leg?

Distinction between leg and foot or are both ashi?

Offensive- yes but above all the most irritating thing I have to listen to on this site.
