Mina-san…. whew!! That was a particularly dramatic climax, huh? But at least Wasabi-chan survived and now all the wasabi is saved! Next time you want to eat zaru soba, you won’t have to put karashi on it (笑).
This story has been brought to you by the Wasabi Growers’ Guild. Got wasabi?
The Wasabi Kunoichi beats Japanese For Busy People any day.
マーキーが言った通り、みんなわさびちゃんが好きですね。 ![]()
Just like Marky told me before this lessons started, everybody love wasabi-chan.
でも、大将はどこ?
But where is taisho…
わさびちゃんが校長を殺していたのに、丁寧語を使い続けていたのが面白かったと思います
久しぶりの夏子さんが入っているレッスンも面白かったんです。
wasabi… hmmm… does Wasabiちゃん turn bright green when she eats wasabi ?… Like Hulk ?….
As I Biologist, it was nice to hear calls of the red-winged black bird in the background whose migrations right now are among the first signs of spring.
There are three possible kanji that seem to have the same meaning and pronunciation of “waku”. They are: 沸く, 湧く, and 涌く. Which is appropriate as used in this lesson or are they all?
This intro rocks… it’s based of my all time favourite!

You wouldn’t like her when she’s angry.
I’m glad Wasabi-chan survived. Nice ending!!!
ニールさん、you picked that out of the background? i am very impressed! ![]()
i just thought it was a regular old bird.
maybe i should invest in some bird call cd’s and see if i can keep you on your toes.
maxiewawaさん、all week the intros are based on that old intro. the intros are now a running storyline that begins on mondays and ends on fridays, so if you like the keitai with a laser gun scenario, be sure to check them all out!
ニール -san
Very good question!
>>沸く, 湧く, and 涌く. Which is appropriate as used in this lesson or are they all?
湧く or 涌く fit today’s dialogue.
Although 湧く is more common Kanji, they basically have same meaning.
As you have probably known, 沸く means to boil. This Kanji is not suitable for today’s usage.
おほ〜これは本当に面白いんじゃありませんか。
でも、私は校長の方も特別し、声も面白いし、また出演させてもらいませんか? ![]()
以外には、うむ、イントロのセリフがないとかな。
イントロ、毎番とっても楽しみにしています。 ![]()
マーキーさん!ガンバてください〜!
The audio file for this lesson only goes for about 5 seconds despite supposedly being around 19 minutes. Can you reload it, thank you?
Whatever glitch I was experiencing seems to have disappeared; all good now.
Cheers, Allan
