みなさんこんにちは、美樹のブログです。 二月四日は春が始まる日、立春です。その前日である三日は「節分」です。節分とは季節を分けるという意味があります。 節分の日には、豆をまいたり、恵方巻という筒状で20センチ位の長さのある大きな寿司を丸々一本食べたり、柊の枝に鰯の頭を刺した鬼よけを玄関先に置いたりします。 これらは、季節の変わり目に出ると言われている鬼を払うために行われます。 豆をまく時は「鬼は外」と言いながら家の外に向かって豆を投げ、「福は内」と言いながら家の中に豆をまきます。こうすることで悪いことを家から追い出し、良いことを家の中に入れることができると考えられてきました。 また、家の中にまいた豆を自分の年齢より一つ多い数だけ食べると体が丈夫になると言われています。 みなさんのご想像通り、家の中は豆だらけになるので後片付けが大変です。 恵方巻という寿司を食べる時は、食べ終わるまで喋ってはいけないというルールがあります。そして、恵方巻を食べる時には、その年の幸せな方角である恵方を向いて食べます。2008年は南南東が恵方です。家族で同じ方角を見ながら黙って恵方巻を食べる姿はちょっと面白いです。 みなさんも寿司を食べたり豆をまいたりして、節分の気分を味わってみませんか? それではまた来週!

節分か、面白ぞうです。
機会があれば僕もやってみたい。
皆さんご存知だと思うんですけれども今日はChinese New Year です。今朝家族全員と朝食を食べたり話したりしました。ほんとに嬉かったです。
ちなみに年上の人からたくさんお年玉(red pockets)をもらった。何を買うかちょっと悩んでる。

恵方巻きはもともと関西地方の文化でした。関東地方でも食べられるようになったのは最近の話です

Hi Miki,
Thank you for your introduction of Japanese’s customs.
In Korea, 4th Feb is 立春(as you know, it means “the start of Srping”)
We have customs of that day(of course not popular in nowadays).
On 立春 , we write letters in traditional korean style on the traditional paper. the letters are 立春大吉(from the Srping, Good luck), or 建陽多慶( warmnes of Spring, Good things)
We usually post it on the enterance door of the house for the wish of Good things in coming lunar new year.
