Although there is a Japanese "mall" near me where I practice at times. They had a sake tasting one day and I asked the girl questions about the different brands in Japanese. The look on her face was priceless, she was totally caught off guard! I don't get an opportunity to use Japanese every day, as I live here in the states, so every opportunity to use it is golden. My opportunities are pretty much limited to the meetup group (once a month), here, thejapanesepage, when I attempt to read articles at jarl.or.jp, reading manga, and occasionally I am able to stir up some DX from that part of the world through one of my hobbies. (usually with one of the internet enhanced modes) (note my username in the forum to figure out the hobby, which has been mentioned here before.)
