December 27th, 2007 | help Need help?

Learn Japanese at JapanesePod101.com! These past few days have been very trying for poor Agnes. She’s been sick and suffering from a lot of stress at work. But today she gets a phone call from her mother, so things are probably bound to turn around! It might seem like an easy grammar point, but sometimes it’s good to review the basics of daily Japanese, so for the last lesson of the year, we’re going to review mou and mada one last time. After listening, stop by JapanesePod101.com and be sure to leave us a post!

Mina-san, poor Agnes is really feeling the pressure. I hope she can find a way to balance out her life before it’s too late!

avatar Eric says:

poor Agnes, hope she is alright

avatar the dude says:

Hahahahahahahahahah!!! I guess that’s the end of Agnes, huh? You guys are too funny!!!!

avatar maxiewawa says:

I liked ゆき先生’s guest appearances in this show!

Yeah, I hope she can recover for a guest appearance in Season 2!

avatar Javizy says:

That 僕はまだ29歳よ! line cracked me up  I suppose her mum not knowing her own daughter’s age is Agnes’s fault for not calling  Agnes likes hanging up without hearing a goodbye though doesn’t she?

avatar Neil says:

I may be incorrect, but it appears the big elephant in the room that was not discussed is that Agnes is likely a girl, only child. Thus, her parents are looking to her to marry and take care of them in their old age and Agnes must marry and have children so that she can have someone to take care of her in her old age. No??

I have hear this custom has changed some recently. I would be interested in hearing about any changes.

avatar Neil says:

Is that Taro chan helping with the lesson transitions?

avatar Sinbad says:

Great job again guys! I’ve been listening for a while and just wanted to say I love the method, love the dialogues, and have been learning a lot. Keep up the good work!

Also, just wanted to point out a tiny mistake in the PDF. In the romaji version instead of “itteru”, “itsutteru” is written when they’re talking about the cousin’s age. Just a typo I’m sure, but just wanted to let you know.

avatar markystar says:

thanks for pointing that out! i updated the pdf and iLearning center

this is our last lesson of 2007!! just in case i don’t have a chance in the next few days, i just want to say Happy New Year to all of you! 2007 was fantastic! and i’m really looking forward to enjoying 2008 with all of you!!! :hachimaki: :kokoro:

アメリカ人なのに、この会話はありふれた話です。

avatar Claudia says:

Agnes no hanashi ni itsu modorimasu ka? Honto ni hisashiburi!

avatar Jacky says:

From the bonus audio track, it’s that mean this is the end of Agnes’ story ?
ちょっとびっくりした、あのBonus audio track

avatar Greg says:

hidoi yo! Who would have thought that Agnes would meet such a grisly end at the (figurative) hands of a bus in a podcast bonus track

avatar Michael says:

Hilarious bonus track. After all that build-up, 25 lessons, what a hilariously quick ending! :) Awesome. I don’t know, but I’m guessing Marky is responsible for the squishy sound effects? Where do you get those from?? Hilarious.

avatar Michael says:

…one more thing: Marky’s (?) barely-audible cheers towards the end of the lesson were also hilarious, just to use that word one more time.
