I am so happy that I ran across Japanesepod101.com this year. I signed up and during my work trip to Tokyo, it was invaluable. I will continue to learn the language and looking forward to what you guys have for us next year. Definitely keep up the good work and Happy Holidays!!

Let me get this straight,
You announced that you’re taking a vacation. Then announced that you’re doing lessons during the vacation. So, you’re taking off Friday and Monday only?
I bet if you didn’t announce it, I for one wouldn’t even notice.

peter, i think that bonus track was very well-intentioned. as kitty-chanさん pointed out, sometimes we’re at a loss for words it’s good to actually know something like this. and you and naomi先生 made a normally sticky subject entertaining!!

kitty-chanさん、 as always ありがとうございます！ i actually wondered about that same thing before…. for the same reason! i think saying “i’m sorry” in this situation is a typical english idiom. i’m curious about other languages. this isn’t the sort of thing you normally learn.
my favorite part is when you can hear naomi fall out of her chair…. lol

watermenさん、yeah 2 intermediates next week! it’s gonna be great! but hold on to your horses! after jan 7 the intermediate level is getting much harder!!

beginner season 3 is being re-tooled into a modulated format. also, expect more character development in the new seasons! that’s all i’m saying for now!

That’s actually an important thing to know. If a Japanese person said they lost a loved one, I’d probably say “I’m sorry” like we do in English. But this probably sounds like I committed a murder in Japanese. Ha ha ha ha ha.

My Spanish friend asked me what to say in English in this situation. I told them “My Condolences.”
