Also, mothers may often say もっと本を読もうね to kids to mean that you should read more books. In English we might say "you should read it" but in Japanese it is impossible to be so direct without giving an order. 「読んだ方がいい」＝ It would be better if you read it 「読まないと行けない」＝　If you don't read it, it won't do...
